USC Grad Student Arrested for Drugging and Raping Multiple Victims

LOS ANGELES, CA – An international student from the University of Southern California has been arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department in connection with a series of sexual assaults. Authorities believe the suspect may be linked to additional crimes and are calling on the public to help identify more potential victims.

The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Sheesh Weighing, was taken into custody on August 28. Weighing, a graduate student at USC, is accused of drugging his victims to incapacitate them before committing the assaults. The incidents reportedly occurred between 2021 and 2025, with Weighing now facing eight felony charges, including rape.

The investigation began after a tip-off from German authorities in January. Although officials did not elaborate on the German connection, they confirmed that Weighing, a Chinese national, had traveled to Germany prior to his arrest.

Following the arrest, the LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division executed search warrants in the University Park area, where Weighing was believed to reside. Authorities suspect he may have had another residence in Los Angeles.

During a recent press conference, LAPD officials declined to provide specific details about the victims or whether they were students. However, they emphasized that the investigation was not related to drug trafficking but focused on the use of intoxicating substances to facilitate the assaults.

The LAPD is urging anyone with information to come forward, as they believe there could be more victims. Weighing is currently held without bail as the investigation continues.

The LAPD and the FBI are collaborating on this case, seeking to understand the full scope of Weighing’s alleged activities. Authorities are hopeful that public assistance will shed light on any additional incidents.

As the investigation unfolds, the LAPD remains committed to ensuring justice for the victims and preventing further harm. They encourage anyone with information to contact the police.
