Tragic Murder-Suicide Leaves Four Dead in Los Angeles Home

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Four people were tragically killed in what the Los Angeles Police Department is characterizing as a murder-suicide in the Granada Hills area on Saturday evening. The police responded to a reported shooting at the 11600 block of Lerdo Avenue just before 7 p.m. Upon arrival, they found four individuals who had succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

Law enforcement officers forced entry into the home after receiving no response when they knocked at the door. A survivor of the shooting directed them to the three victims who were present in the house. The deceased included a man in his late 40s, two women (one in her late 40s and another around 80 years old), all of whom died from gunshot wounds.

Additionally, authorities found an 80-year-old man who had also suffered a fatal gunshot wound in a different area of the home and was believed to have been the perpetrator of the shooting. One fortunate individual who was inside the residence during the incident managed to avoid harm by barricading themselves and notifying the police.

At a press briefing, LAPD Capt. Kelly Muniz confirmed that the witness inside the home was unharmed and provided critical information to law enforcement. However, the names of the victims and a possible motive for the tragic events have not been released to the public at this time.
