The Arizona Department of Public Safety reported that the crash occurred in the southbound lanes near Kilometer Post 83, with multiple vehicles involved in what authorities described as a rollover incident.
Emergency responders from the Santa Rita Fire District reported that four vehicles were entangled in the collision, resulting in injuries to six people. All injured parties were transported to Banner University Medical Center Main Campus for treatment, although the extent of their injuries remains unconfirmed.
Due to the severity of the incident, southbound lanes of I-19 were closed north of Pima Mine Road, while traffic in the northbound lanes continues to flow.
