Alexis Lee and John JR Collins tragically died in separate car crashes less than two hours apart, leaving their families and a four-year-old son, Gabriel, behind.
The couple, who had recently purchased a home together, were planning to marry early next year. Their dreams were cut short on a fateful Friday night when Lee lost control of her SUV on Plank Road, near Lyman Road, resulting in a fatal crash. Shortly after, Collins, on his way to the scene, also lost control of his vehicle on Plank Road, just outside Clinton, and collided with a tree. The impact ejected him from the car, leading to his death.

Lee, a Southern University graduate, was a dedicated teacher at East Feliciana Steam Academy, while Collins was a truck driver with a passion for sports cars.
