Hull, England — A 19-year-old man was convicted of multiple violent offenses against a pregnant teenager, culminating in a brutal four-hour attack that left her fighting for her life. Stefan Marin was found guilty of child destruction, grievous bodily harm with intent, non-fatal strangulation, false imprisonment, and perverting the course of justice after a jury deliberated for nine days at Hull Crown Court.
The court learned that on March 13, Marin subjected the 17-year-old victim to a harrowing ordeal during which he physically assaulted her repeatedly, focusing his violence on her abdomen despite her desperate attempts to protect her unborn child. The attack concluded with Marin forcing the girl to leave his flat and abandoning her in an alleyway, where she was later discovered by a passerby, bleeding and nearly unconscious.
Emergency responders rushed the victim to the hospital, where she was treated for severe facial injuries and a broken nose. Tragically, medical examinations revealed that her 29-week-old fetus had died, a heartbreaking turn given that the child had been deemed healthy just days prior.
Following the assault, investigators entered Marin’s residence, where they noted signs of a thorough cleaning and a strong smell of bleach, raising suspicions about his actions following the attack. According to the prosecution, Marin offered no remorse or explanation during police interviews, opting instead to deny all charges.
