Authorities identified Markel Glover as the man sought after a domestic-related shooting on Bateman Road.
MILLINGTON, Tenn. — Police searched Friday night and into Saturday for a man wanted in connection with a shooting in Millington that left another person in critical condition, according to authorities.
Millington police identified the person they are seeking as Markel Glover. Police said the shooting was connected to a domestic incident at 4800 Bateman Road. Glover remained at large in the latest information released by authorities.
The shooting happened Friday, Sept. 18, along Bateman Road between Raleigh Millington Road and Juana Drive. Police established a perimeter in the area as officers and other agencies searched for Glover.
Authorities have not released a detailed account of what led to the shooting. Police also have not publicly identified the victim or described the relationship between the victim and Glover. Officials said the incident was domestic in nature.
The victim lived at the same residence where the shooting occurred, according to local reporting citing police. A family member took the victim to a hospital, where the person was reported in critical condition. No updated medical condition had been announced by Saturday morning.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and Shelby County Emergency Management and Homeland Security joined Millington police in the response and search. Authorities did not immediately disclose how large an area was being searched or whether investigators believed Glover had left Millington.
Police said they did not know of an immediate threat to the general public despite Glover remaining at large. Authorities nevertheless continued efforts to locate him as the investigation moved into Saturday.
No arrest, criminal charge or court filing related to the Friday shooting had been publicly announced in the latest reports reviewed Saturday morning. Police had released Glover’s name as the person being sought but had not provided additional details about the circumstances of the shooting.
Investigators continued searching for Glover Saturday while authorities worked to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Police asked anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact 911.
