YORK COUNTY, Pa. — Authorities have confirmed the cause of death for 24-year-old Matthew Ruth, who was involved in a deadly confrontation with law enforcement that resulted in the loss of three detectives’ lives. The York County Coroner’s Office has ruled Ruth’s death a homicide due to multiple gunshot wounds sustained during the incident.
District Attorney Tim Barker indicated that the shooting incident, which unfolded in North Codorus Township, has been deemed justified.
