Teen Found Stabbed Blocks From Logan Party, Police Say

The 17-year-old was in critical condition after officers found him wounded several blocks away.

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — Philadelphia police were investigating Tuesday after a 17-year-old boy was stabbed multiple times during a fight at a party in the city’s Logan section late Monday night.

The call brought officers to the 4500 block of North Carlisle Street about 11:45 p.m. Police said the teen was not found at the exact party location, but a few blocks away with stab wounds to his back and leg.

Chief Inspector Scott Small said the violence began with a fight involving several people. The teen was among those involved, Small said, and was stabbed during that confrontation.

Officers gave emergency aid at the scene, including applying a tourniquet to the teen’s leg, police said. He was rushed to a hospital in critical condition and was undergoing surgery.

Police said cameras near the scene could be important to the case. Investigators were expected to review surveillance video as they work to identify who stabbed the teen and what led to the fight.

No arrests had been announced, and police had not released the teen’s name. Officials also had not said whether anyone else was hurt in the fight.

The case remained active Tuesday as investigators searched for witnesses, video and other evidence tied to the late-night party.
