Suspect Arrested in Boston Assault That Left Victim with Severe Brain Injuries

Boston — Authorities have arrested a man in connection with a serious incident on Lansdowne Street that occurred last month, leaving the victim critically injured. Brandon Wilson, 27, of Quincy, was taken into custody on October 28 near 449 Sea Street.

Wilson faces charges of aggravated assault stemming from a September 28 altercation that left 22-year-old Jack Farrell unconscious. According to police reports, Wilson allegedly struck Farrell in the face, resulting in a severe injury. Witnesses say the attack was unprovoked.

Farrell’s mother, Mona Saltalamacchia, described the chaotic scene, explaining that her son had been enjoying an evening out with friends following a Red Sox game when the attack occurred. “From what I was told, he stepped back and then approached Jack before delivering a punch,” Saltalamacchia recounted. “Afterward, he was left lying on the ground.”

Medical professionals diagnosed Farrell with a brain bleed, necessitating an emergency procedure during which doctors removed a portion of his skull to alleviate pressure on his brain. He is currently receiving treatment at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and is in the process of recovering.

In the wake of the incident, the local community has rallied around Farrell and his family, providing support during this challenging time. Friends have set up fundraising efforts to help with medical expenses and ensure that he gets the care he needs.

Wilson is expected to appear in Roxbury District Court, where he will face charges related to the attack. The incident has raised concerns about public safety, particularly in areas frequented by young adults and sports fans.

As investigators continue to look into the details surrounding the event, they urge anyone with additional information to come forward. The police hope that by shedding light on such violent acts, they can foster a safer environment for everyone enjoying nightlife in the city.
