Police Hunt Two Men in Black After 14-Year-Old Shot

The 14-year-old victim was shot Sunday night near Master and Allison streets.

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — Philadelphia police searched Monday for two men after a 14-year-old boy was shot late Sunday in West Philadelphia and rushed to a hospital, authorities said.

The shooting was reported around 10 p.m. near North 56th and Master streets, close to Master and Allison streets. Police said officers found the teen with gunshot wounds after responding to reports of gunfire. He was taken to Penn Presbyterian Hospital as investigators closed off parts of the neighborhood.

Police said the boy had been shot in the chest and in the hand or arm. Authorities initially identified him as 16, then corrected his age to 14. His name was not released. Police said they had not determined a motive and had not announced charges by Monday afternoon.

Investigators worked in the dark Sunday night, searching for evidence across several blocks. Officers found a blood trail that ran along Master Street and continued onto Allison Street. Philadelphia Police Inspector D.F. Pace said, “We have yet to find any spent shell casings,” while noting that investigators were still processing the scene.

Police said some of the incident was recorded on surveillance video. Pace said the video showed someone running from the area, but investigators were still trying to learn whether that person was connected to the shooting. Officers also checked nearby homes and properties for additional cameras that may have captured the suspects or the gunfire.

By Monday, police said they were looking for two men dressed in all black. No further descriptions were released. Detectives were expected to keep reviewing video, canvass the area and process any evidence recovered from the scene.

The case remained open Monday, with no arrests reported and key details still unknown, including who fired the shots and why. Police said the investigation was ongoing.
