Houston Sister Finds Brother Dead After Day Of Silence

Homicide detectives are investigating the death on Chrystell Lane after firefighters reported suspicious circumstances.

HOUSTON, Texas — Houston homicide detectives are investigating after an adult man was found dead Monday at a mobile home community on Chrystell Lane in northwest Houston, police said.

The case began as a deceased person call at the Chrystell Mobile Homes Community in the 4600 block of Chrystell Lane. Houston Fire Department crews were first sent to the home and contacted police after seeing signs they considered suspicious.

Houston police said officers responded and determined the death would likely be handled as a homicide investigation. The man’s name had not been released Monday, and officials described him only as an adult male. Investigators said family members had been unable to reach him during the day before one of his sisters went to the home.

The sister entered the residence with help from a neighbor and found the man dead, police said. Detectives had not announced a cause of death, and the Harris County medical examiner’s office was expected to make that determination after an examination. Police also said no weapon had been recovered as of the briefing.

Investigators remained at the mobile home community Monday as the Houston Police Department Homicide Division worked to document the scene, interview relatives and neighbors, and review what happened before the man was found. No suspect information had been released.

The investigation remained open Monday, with the medical examiner’s findings expected to guide the next steps in the case.
