The shooting sent two men and one woman to a hospital.
MIRAMAR, Fla. β Miramar police said a Sunday shooting that left three people hospitalized appeared to target a specific car traveling on Sunshine Boulevard.
The shooting was reported near 2700 Sunshine Boulevard. Police said two men and one woman were heading west in a car when someone fired at them. The car later crashed near the 2600 block of Sunshine Boulevard, and fire rescue crews took the three occupants to a hospital.
Police did not immediately say whether all three people were struck by gunfire or hurt in the crash. Their conditions were not released. No arrests had been made, and investigators had not announced a motive or released a suspect description.
Miramar Police Chief Delrish Moss said officers did not believe there was a wider threat to the neighborhood. βAt this point, we don’t believe there is a bigger picture with regards to the neighborhood being in danger,β Moss said, adding that the car appeared to have been targeted for an unknown reason.
The crash left officers and fire rescue crews working along Sunshine Boulevard as detectives began piecing together the shooting. Police were expected to review evidence from the scene and determine where the gunfire came from.
The case remained open Sunday as police searched for whoever fired at the car.
