HOUSTON — Authorities in Houston have issued a public appeal for assistance in identifying a man who was last seen with a woman shortly before her tragic death. Houston Police Department discovered the body of Kenia Guardado Molina, 27, in her apartment at The Carlisle on Forum Park Drive on the morning of October 1, after she was notably absent in retrieving her 3-year-old son from a babysitter.
Earlier, surveillance footage had captured Molina walking near her residence around 2:47 a.m. on September 30, alongside an unidentified male. The footage depicted both individuals appearing relaxed and friendly just steps away from Molina’s apartment. This has led police to seek the man for questioning in connection with Molina’s death, which resulted from a gunshot wound to the head.
Yolanda Isabel Guardado, Molina’s sister, shared her grief from Panama in a heartfelt telephone interview. “I wish I could tell her I love her and wish I could take care of her,” she expressed. Mourning the loss, Guardado mentioned the challenge facing the family, especially Molina’s children, including a 10-year-old daughter, in dealing with the tragic event and the complexities involved in repatriating Molina’s remains to their native Honduras.
Houston Police Department has yet to classify the man as a suspect officially but continues to express a strong interest in speaking with him to ascertain his involvement, if any, in the incident.
The police urge anyone with information about the case to step forward and communicate with the Houston Police Department’s Homicide Division or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers. Ensuring confidentiality, Crime Stoppers allows individuals to provide information anonymously via phone, their website, or a dedicated mobile application.
This incident has stirred the community, highlighting not only the immediate need for resolution and justice for Molina’s family but also the broader issues of public safety and community cohesion. For now, the Houston Police continue their investigation, keen on piecing together the events that led to the tragic death of Kenia Guardado Molina.
