Explosions at Hallsville Duplex Leave Injuries and Destruction in Their Wake

HALLSVILLE, Missouri – An investigation is ongoing after a series of explosions occurred in a duplex on East Tayler Court late Wednesday night. The Boone County Fire Protection District is leading the investigation, along with the State Fire Marshal’s office, after heavy fire and obvious signs of an explosion were reported at the scene.

The duplex, which is divided into two homes, experienced an explosion in one of the homes, resulting in two serious injuries and transport to University Hospital. Fortunately, the other members of the affected home were able to escape without injury, as well as a family of five from the neighboring home.

Neighbors described the chaotic scene, with one resident reporting three separate explosions that prompted a rapid evacuation of their family. Another neighbor recounted the urgent efforts to assist in removing a dog from the affected home, while highlighting the emotional toll of the event.

Following the incident, the affected families are now seeking temporary accommodation, with few belongings salvageable. The investigation is still ongoing, with authorities hoping to interview those in the hospital when they are able to provide insight into the events that occurred.
