CALI, Colombia — A series of coordinated attacks by rebel factions on Tuesday left seven individuals dead, including two police officers, and revived concerns over public safety in Colombia. The National Police reported that multiple bombs detonated near police stations in Cali and the nearby Cauca province.
Authorities attributed the violent incidents to the FARC-EMC, a group formed by dissidents from the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia. On the same day, the police documented 24 separate attacks across Cali and the surrounding Valle del Cauca and Cauca regions, resulting in 28 injuries. Among the wounded were 19 civilians, highlighting the danger posed by the escalating violence.
