Deadly Bar Shooting Leaves Woman Dead, Three Others Injured

State police said a parking lot fight outside Niki’s Quick Six led to gunfire early Sunday.

PARKS TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A woman was killed and three other people were injured early Sunday when gunfire broke out outside Niki’s Quick Six, a bar on First Street in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Investigators said the shooting followed a physical fight in the parking lot shortly after 1:15 a.m. The woman who died was identified as Jessica Hilliard, 34, of Apollo. Police said David Dunmire, 36, of Vandergrift, remained at the scene and was taken into custody without incident.

A local police officer arrived first and found Hilliard dead at the scene, along with multiple people suffering from gunshot wounds, according to state police. Rebecca Boston, 24, of McIntyre, was found at the scene and was last listed in critical condition. Two other victims, Hector Saballos, 34, and Dominik Dellach, 25, both of Vandergrift, left before troopers arrived and were later listed in stable condition.

State police said their investigation found that a fight began outside the bar before Dunmire allegedly pulled out a firearm and fired several rounds. Armstrong County District Attorney Katie Charlton approved a criminal homicide charge after consulting with investigators. Authorities have not said what started the fight or whether Dunmire knew the victims.

Neighbor Nelson Lubik, who lives across from the bar, said he was awake when he heard what sounded like six to eight gunshots. “I quickly looked out the window. I saw people leaving the facility, running,” Lubik said. He said he called 911 and later saw emergency crews trying to save Hilliard.

Lubik said he and his wife have lived across from the building for 51 years and had grown worried about problems near the bar in recent years. He described late-night noise, fights and items left near the road. “It’s a shame anybody has to lose their life over something that might be stupid,” he said.

The investigation remained active Monday. State police have not released a full account of the moments before the shooting, and additional court details were not immediately available.
