HOUSTON, TX – A dating app meet-up in Houston spiraled into violence, resulting in a man’s arrest after he allegedly stabbed a woman. Andre Clark is now behind bars following the incident, which occurred shortly after their initial meeting.
The attack took place at Clark’s apartment complex, where the 24-year-old victim had gone to meet him. She is currently hospitalized, while Clark faces serious charges. He was on parole for previous offenses, including an assault on a pregnant woman and arson.
Clark appeared in court today, charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The case is currently in the 230th District Court under Judge Chris Morton.
According to investigators, the woman visited Clark after they connected via a dating app. Conflict arose when Clark allegedly demanded sex, and upon her refusal, he reportedly stabbed her and retreated to his apartment.
A woman claiming to be Clark’s mother, speaking through a doorbell camera, said she was unaware of the incident but mentioned her son’s history of mental illness, seeking to understand the situation.
“My son has mental disabilities,” she commented, emphasizing her efforts to assist him.
Clark remains in Harris County Jail as authorities continue to investigate. Due to the victim’s recovery, a detailed interview has not yet been conducted, leaving some elements of the case still unclear.
This incident underscores the potential risks involved in online dating scenarios.
