Woodstock, Georgia — A 24-year-old man has been sentenced to decades behind bars for his violent assault on his girlfriend, a case that highlights the significant impact of domestic violence. Logan Ben Jordan of Waleska received a 50-year prison sentence, with the first 15 years required to be served, following a guilty plea to several charges, including aggravated assault and false imprisonment.
The violent incident occurred on October 21, 2022, and its repercussions have been profound for the victim. According to officials, the attack not only involved physical violence but also psychological trauma. District Attorney Susan K. Treadway’s office reported that Jordan faced multiple charges, including aggravated battery and criminal damage to property.
The investigation into the case was led by the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office, with prosecution handled by Deputy Chief Assistant District Attorney Rachel Ashe, who specializes in domestic violence cases. During the plea hearing on September 11, Ashe emphasized the nature of the crime. “This was a sustained, violent attack. This defendant not only physically assaulted the victim – he also terrorized her,” she remarked.
The victim shared her harrowing experience during the hearing, revealing the lasting psychological effects of the assault, such as suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.
