Wall Township Man Charged with Attempted Murder After Brutal Attack on Girlfriend in Apartment Parking Lot

Wall Township, New Jersey – A Wall Township man is facing charges of Attempted Murder after a violent attack on his girlfriend at an apartment complex parking lot. Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago announced the charges against Alex J. Williams, 24, which include Attempted Murder in the first degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child in the second degree, and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose (machete) in the third degree. The victim’s child was present during the attack, leading to the endangering charge.

The incident took place on May 23, 2024, around 9:22 a.m. when officers responded to reports of an assault in the parking lot of the Glen Oaks Apartment Complex. Upon arrival, the officers found a female victim with severe injuries. She was rushed to a local hospital where she remains in critical condition.

An investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Bureau and the Wall Township Police Department revealed that Williams had repeatedly assaulted the victim with a machete, causing her significant harm. Williams was arrested without incident and is currently held at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution awaiting a detention hearing scheduled for May 29, 2024.

Assistant Prosecutor Joseph Cummings of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Bureau is handling the case. The victim’s condition remains critical as the investigation continues. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to aid in the ongoing investigation. Williams’ legal representation has not provided a statement at this time.
