BANGOR, Maine — Three individuals have been charged with felony robbery following a brutal assault in Hermon, Maine, authorities reported. The incident, which occurred in late June, resulted in significant injuries to a local man and subsequent hospitalization.
The suspects, identified as Tory Kindred, 45, of Old Town, originally from New York, Thomas Pope, 47, of Sicklerville, New Jersey, and Amanda Allard, 35, of Bangor, Maine, were apprehended following the attack. They face Class A felony robbery charges, which are among the most serious under Maine law.
The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office stated that deputies were called to the scene on Union Street in Hermon just before 4 a.m. on June 23, where they found the victim with severe injuries. An investigation revealed the victim had been attacked and robbed by individuals he knew.
Further investigation led authorities to the Holiday Inn on Odlin Road in Bangor where one of the suspect’s vehicles was located. A subsequent search of two hotel rooms and the vehicle resulted in the seizure of multiple bags of crack cocaine.
Kindred, Pope, and Allard were taken into custody at the scene and transported to the Penobscot County Jail. The sheriff’s office mentioned that additional suspects have been identified and efforts are underway to locate them.
Lieutenant Mark Fucile of the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office emphasized the violent nature of the crime and assured that the investigation remains a top priority. “Our team is dedicated to ensuring that all individuals involved are held accountable for their actions. This was not just a mere theft; it was a violent act that endangered a life,” Fucile stated.
