Two Roommates Found Shot Dead Inside Houston Home, Killer at Large

Detectives are reviewing surveillance video and interviewing witnesses after two roommates were found fatally shot inside their home.

HOUSTON — Houston homicide detectives are seeking surveillance video and witness information as they try to determine who fatally shot two roommates inside a Glen Hollow Drive home early Sunday.

The man and woman were found inside the residence in the 12800 block of Glen Hollow Drive after police were called about 2:20 a.m. Authorities had not publicly identified either victim or announced an arrest by Monday.

Investigators believe another person was responsible for the shooting. Police said no firearms were recovered inside the residence and detectives do not believe the deaths resulted from the roommates shooting each other.

The homeowner was not at the residence when the shooting occurred, according to HPD Homicide Detective Cory Sharp. Sharp said the homeowner later returned, discovered the victims and called 911.

Detectives interviewed the homeowner as they began building a timeline of the hours before the bodies were found. Police were also speaking with other witnesses and people connected to the residence.

Investigators were working to obtain footage from security cameras positioned around the property. The recordings could help establish when the shooter arrived, how the person entered or left, and whether a vehicle was used. Police had not said whether any useful images had been recovered.

Crime scene investigators remained at the home for several hours Sunday, gathering physical evidence and documenting the interior. Authorities have not disclosed what evidence was collected or whether there were signs of forced entry.

The investigation brought a large police presence to the normally quiet residential street. Neighbor Jerry Dukes, who said he has lived in the area for decades, was asleep when the shooting happened and did not know anything was wrong until he went outside Sunday morning.

“I was devastated,” Dukes said. “Very sad, very sad.” He said police vehicles filled the area and the street was blocked while officers worked at the home.

Sharp said detectives had not established a motive and could not confirm whether illegal activity contributed to the shooting. Police said the available evidence indicated the attack was isolated and that there was no continuing threat to other residents.

The case remained under investigation Monday. Police had not released a suspect description, identified a possible relationship between the shooter and the victims, or explained what may have led to the killings.
