Suspect Identified One Year After Deadly Explosion in Cleveland Leads to Arrest Warrant

Cleveland, Ohio – More than a year after a tragic car crash triggered a fatal explosion in Cleveland, an arrest warrant has been issued for the man believed to have been driving the vehicle at the time.

Court documents reveal that Christopher Terry, 39, was allegedly driving a 2019 Dodge Challenger at a staggering speed of 123 miles per hour on E. 139th Street. The vehicle lost control, crashing into a tree, multiple front yards, an apartment building, and finally coming to a halt after hitting the front porch of a house.

The devastating incident occurred on November 19, 2023, at approximately 8 p.m. The driver fled the scene, leaving behind significant damage.

According to the arrest warrant, the collision caused a gas line failure at the apartment building located at 3405 E. 139th Street, leading to a fatal explosion that claimed the life of a 68-year-old woman inside.

As a result of the explosion, the suspect is now wanted on a charge of Aggravated Vehicular Homicide.

During the aftermath, another woman was rescued from the rubble, while four other adults were displaced from the apartment building, as mentioned by officials at the time.
