Stockport, United Kingdom – A shocking Snapchat video has brought to light a brutal attack on a shop worker by a group of hooded individuals. The incident, which took place at a petrol station on Wellington Road South, captured the victim being punched, kicked, and stamped on during a horrifying assault and robbery in the early hours of July 29, 2021.
The video, which surfaced on social media, shows the employee hiding behind the counter as the group of assailants threaten and then physically attack him. The attackers barged into the petrol station, launching a digital screen at the victim and proceeding to punch and kick him as he fell to the ground in terror. Paramedics later tended to the victim, who had suffered injuries as the perpetrators fled with stolen goods amounting to £600.
Law enforcement, using the incriminating Snapchat footage, was able to identify and apprehend the individuals responsible for the attack. Four suspects, identified as Kausar Amin, Bradley Maphosa, Tyler Garforth, and Riley Richardson, were arrested and subsequently charged in connection with the incident.
In court, Amin, the main perpetrator, was sentenced to two years in prison for his role in the violent robbery. His three accomplices, Maphosa, Garforth, and Richardson, also faced legal repercussions for their involvement. Maphosa was sentenced to two years in a young offender institute, Garforth received a suspended 13-month detention sentence, and Richardson was handed a 13-month suspended prison term.
Detective Constable Lucy Williams commended the victim’s bravery and the public’s assistance in bringing the perpetrators to justice. She emphasized the seriousness of the attack, describing it as unprovoked, fueled by rage, and intended to cause harm. The victim’s resilience, coupled with the collaborative efforts of law enforcement and the community, played a vital role in ensuring that those responsible were held accountable for their actions.
