Man Fatally Stabbed in West Palm Beach Altercation, Suspect Arrested for Murder

West Palm Beach, Florida – A recent altercation in West Palm Beach turned deadly last month, resulting in the death of one man and the arrest of another on a murder charge. Manuel Orozco, 51, of Greenacres, is facing allegations of second-degree murder in connection with the death of 54-year-old Iosvani Casonova Moreno. The incident took place outside a community grocery store on Lake Avenue, where the altercation ensued, leading to Moreno’s body being discovered south of the initial location.

Orozco was apprehended by authorities on Tuesday, March 26, and ordered to appear in court for a bail hearing. However, records indicate that he declined to attend the scheduled hearing. Subsequently, Circuit Judge Donald Hafele assigned Orozco a public defender and ordered that he be held without bail, also mandating no contact with Moreno’s family or witnesses.

According to a police report, officers responded to a 911 call around 10 p.m. on February 29 and found Moreno lying in a bank parking lot, where he was pronounced dead. Witnesses reported seeing Orozco and Moreno drinking beer outside the store before engaging in separate altercations captured on surveillance footage. The footage showed Orozco attacking Moreno after an initial shoving incident.

Following the incident, Orozco was identified as the suspect, and authorities obtained a warrant to collect DNA from him on March 2. Despite the warrant, Orozco declined to provide a statement regarding the events surrounding the fatal altercation. The investigation into the case continues as more details emerge regarding the circumstances leading to Moreno’s tragic death.
