Man Convicted of Violent Attack and Car Theft Following Aggressive Incident

Reading, England – Jamie Voska-Matsell, a 21-year-old resident of Teesdale Road in Slough, made an appearance at Reading Magistrates Court on March 21 in connection with an incident that took place on August 25, 2023.

The court proceedings revealed that the incident occurred at a residence in Bracknell while Voska-Matsell and his victim were visiting a friend. Following a bout of aggression towards the young woman, Voska-Matsell departed the premises with her car, despite being disqualified from driving and lacking insurance.

Upon his return to the address, Voska-Matsell reportedly launched a violent attack on the victim inside the vehicle. The victim later disclosed enduring controlling and coercive behavior throughout their relationship leading up to the incident.

Before allowing the victim to escape, Voska-Matsell resorted to intimidating tactics by striking the car and tearing off one of its wing mirrors. The investigating officer, PC Rebecca Reynolds from Bracknell police station, expressed relief that Voska-Matsell admitted guilt, sparing the victim the ordeal of reliving the trauma in court.

Following his arrest, Voska-Matsell was found guilty of six offenses and pleaded guilty to all charges. Thames Valley Police commended the victim for her bravery in coming forward and vowed to stand against violence towards women, ensuring perpetrators are held accountable for their actions.
