Colorado Mother Arrested in United Kingdom in Connection with Children’s Deaths

A Colorado mother, Kimberlee Singler, has been arrested in the United Kingdom in connection with the deaths of two of her three children. Singler, 35, is accused of killing her 9-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son, as well as wounding her 11-year-old daughter. The Colorado Springs Police Department did not provide details of the overseas arrest.

The incident began on Dec. 19 when police responded to a burglary call at Singler’s home. Upon arrival, they found Singler and her 11-year-old daughter injured, and her 9-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son dead. Contrary to the initial report, the burglary turned out to be unfounded. Singler initially cooperated with police but then disappeared during the investigation.

Considered a witness and a victim at the time, Singler was allowed to leave the hospital as there was not enough probable cause to suggest she was connected to her children’s deaths. However, an arrest warrant was obtained on Tuesday, on charges of murder and attempted murder.

Police have not disclosed how the children were killed or the nature of Singler’s and her surviving daughter’s injuries. Singler is now facing multiple first-degree murder charges, as well as charges of child abuse, attempted first-degree murder, and assault, according to a police statement.

The gruesome incident has shocked the Colorado community, and the investigation is ongoing to bring justice for the victims and their surviving sibling.
