Deputies said a 911 caller reported following an alleged robber before gunfire left one person dead Sunday afternoon.
HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A person was killed Sunday after a 911 caller reported being robbed at gunpoint and then followed an alleged suspect in north Harris County, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident began in the 900 block of Pear Street, where deputies said the caller reported an armed robbery Sunday afternoon. The caller also told authorities that he was following the person believed to be responsible. The sheriff’s office later said the caller reported being shot on John Alber Road near Bauman Road. Investigators have not released a detailed account explaining what happened between the initial robbery report and the shooting.
Deputies said one person was shot and pronounced dead. Authorities had not publicly established whether the person who died was the person who made the 911 call or the person described as the robbery suspect.
