The victim was taken to Brookdale Hospital after being found wounded on Fulton Street.
BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Police were investigating after a man was stabbed to death early Wednesday on Fulton Street near the Van Siclen Avenue subway stop in Cypress Hills.
The attack was reported just before 1 a.m. Police said officers found a man believed to be in his 40s with stab wounds to his chest and back. EMS rushed him to Brookdale Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Authorities had not released the victim’s identity by Wednesday evening. Investigators also had not released a motive, a suspect description or details on what happened before the stabbing. Police said no arrests had been made.
The scene remained active after daybreak, with police tape around part of the block as investigators looked for clues. The stabbing happened near a subway station used by residents, workers and late-night riders in the Cypress Hills section of Brooklyn.
People who live nearby said the victim appeared to be familiar in the neighborhood. Xavier Asqui, a longtime neighbor, said the man was respectful and often greeted his family. “He say hi to my mom and my pops every day,” Asqui said.
The NYPD continued to investigate Wednesday, with detectives seeking information about the moments before the stabbing and the person who fled the scene.
