Austin Bowar Identified as Victim of Fatal Shooting in Waco, Suspect Still at Large

Waco, Texas – Officials in Waco have identified the victim of a fatal shooting that occurred early Thursday morning on North Sixth Street. Austin Bowar, a 22-year-old, was found with a gunshot wound in the 1100 block of North Sixth Street around 1:15 a.m. Thursday. He was rushed to a local hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

Despite their efforts, the police have yet to locate the suspected shooter in this case. They are urging the public to come forward with any information they may have regarding the incident. Individuals can contact the department at 254-750-7500 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at 254-753-4357. A reward of $2,000 is being offered for tips leading to an arrest.

This tragedy marks the fourth criminal homicide investigation in Waco this year. In two of the previous cases, arrests were made – one involving the killing of Gilberto Moralez, a Dallas medical researcher, and the other the shooting death of Myesha McCants. The suspects in these cases have been identified as Bralon Amad Buhl and Jada Lashae Millwood, respectively.

In the case of the shooting that claimed the life of Winfred Talley Jr. and injured two others on February 24, no arrests have been made yet. Authorities believe that video evidence of the incident exists and are requesting anyone with such footage to provide it to aid in the investigation. Law enforcement officials continue to work diligently to bring justice to the victims and their families in these tragic events.
