Two Men Face Charges Following Violent Assault in York

York, England – Two men have been charged in connection with a violent attack that occurred in York. The men, aged 26 and 29, were arrested on Tuesday by officers investigating an assault on a man that took place on 19 April. Police stated that both men have been charged with wounding with intent.

Additionally, the 29-year-old faces further charges including witness intimidation, criminal damage, assaulting an emergency worker, and possession of an offensive weapon. Both individuals have been remanded in custody and are set to appear before magistrates on Thursday. The 26-year-old has also been recalled back to prison, as confirmed by North Yorkshire Police.

Following the arrests, a man in his 60s who was also detained in connection with the attack has been released on conditional bail, according to a spokesperson from the police force. Furthermore, two women aged 41 and 43, as well as a 54-year-old man who were previously arrested in connection with the incident, are currently on bail while investigations continue.

Detective Chief Inspector Fionna McEwan urged anyone with information about the assault to come forward. “I continue to appeal to anyone who has any information to please come forward,” McEwan emphasized.
