Killeen Shooting Ends in Tragic Turn of Events; Suspect Takes Own Life

Killeen, Texas – Authorities in Killeen, Texas, are investigating a tragic shooting incident that resulted in the death of one individual. The suspect involved in the shooting subsequently took their own life in Lampasas County, according to the Killeen Police Department.

The incident unfolded when officers from the Killeen Police Department responded to a call in the 6300 block of Taree Loop in southwest Killeen. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a male victim with gunshot wounds, but the suspect was not present at that time.

Shortly after the shooting, the suspected shooter made a call to 911 to report the incident. The Copperas Cove Police Department later located the suspect’s vehicle and initiated a traffic stop in Lampasas County. The suspect, however, refused to exit the vehicle and ultimately sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

It is important to note that no law enforcement officers discharged their weapons during the incident. The Lampasas County Sheriff’s Department, along with the Texas Rangers, are overseeing the investigation into the suspect’s death in Lampasas County. The investigation is still ongoing, with authorities continuing to gather information and evidence related to the case.
