Ajay, hailing from Rohtak, Haryana, had a criminal record with a dozen cases involving murder, attempted murder, and Arms Act violations in both Haryana and Delhi. Police also linked him to the murder of a businessman in Sonipat’s Murthal on March 10.
Authorities reported that on May 6, Ajay, along with accomplice Mohit Ridhau, unleashed gunfire at a second-hand luxury car showroom in the Tilak Nagar area, resulting in injuries to seven individuals as bullets shattered glass doors and windows. A handwritten note left by the shooters included the names of three underworld figures – Bhau, Neeraj Faridkot, and Naveen Bali. The showroom owner was targeted with a demand for Rs 5 crore in “protection money” from an international caller.
