Rawalpindi Police Kill Six ‘Dacoits’ Involved in Murder of British Citizen

RAWALPINDI, Pakistan – Rawalpindi police claimed to have killed six suspected bandits involved in the murder of a British citizen of Pakistani origin. The suspects were allegedly killed during two separate police encounters in the Race Course and Morgah police station areas.

According to a police spokesperson, the suspects were involved in the recent robbery and murder of a British citizen named Tasaraf Mehmood, who had returned from the UK. The suspects, members of an inter-provincial gang, had used police uniforms during their criminal activities and were linked to multiple robberies in different cities across Pakistan.

During the encounters, four suspects were killed in the Race Course area after opening fire on the police party, while two other suspects were killed in the Morgah police station area. Police were able to recover the victim’s belongings, weapons, and police uniforms from the accused. Additionally, it was revealed that the gang had also committed a robbery on a citizen returning from Canada.

The Rawalpindi City Police Officer, Syed Khalid Hamdani, had initiated an investigation into the murder and formed special teams to apprehend the accused. Despite the successful elimination of the suspects, two others managed to escape from the scene during the encounter in the Morgah police station area.

The operation comes as a significant achievement for the Rawalpindi police in their efforts to combat criminal activities and ensure the safety of citizens. The successful neutralization of the suspects demonstrates the commitment of law enforcement to bring perpetrators of violent crimes to justice.
