HUMBLE, Texas – A tragic incident unfolded on Saturday night in Humble, Texas, where North Shore High School senior Jarvon Coles, a standout football player, was found unresponsive at a party with a gunshot wound. According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred around 11 p.m. on Fieldwick Lane near the Forest Shadows community.
Deputies initially responded to reports of underage drinking at a short-term rental property, leading to the discovery of Coles and a large gathering of 50-60 people. Despite immediate CPR efforts by deputies upon finding Coles in a backyard with a seizure, it was revealed that he had suffered a fatal gunshot wound to his chest.
Jarvon Coles, 18, known for his athletic prowess as a two-time first-team all-district linebacker at North Shore High School, was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to a nearby hospital. The tragedy, believed to have been caused by intentional gunfire directed towards the house party from a block away, has left the community in shock.
Coles’ grandfather and guardian, Braxton Coles, shared that Jarvon had excelled academically with a remarkable 4.1 GPA, leading to his acceptance into 15 colleges. Just recently, Jarvon had visited Lamar University with plans to play football there. The sudden loss has left behind grieving family members, including his grandparents and siblings.
