BALTIMORE, MD – The tragic death of three-year-old Nola Dinkins, allegedly at the hands of her mother, has sent shockwaves through the community. Nola’s grandmother, Velma Dinkins, shared emotional memories of her beloved granddaughter, whom she affectionately called “Nola Bear.”
Maryland authorities discovered Nola’s body in a parking lot in Cecil County. Her mother, Darian Randall, confessed to beating the child with a belt until she became unresponsive, according to a police affidavit. Randall then placed Nola’s body in a suitcase, leaving it overnight before disposing of it with the help of her boyfriend, Cedric Britton.
Randall faces murder charges, as well as charges for falsely reporting Nola’s kidnapping, which led to a brief Amber Alert. The community is grieving the loss of a child remembered for her charm and innocence.
