McCarthy Takes Aim at Biden – Impeachment on the Horizon

Last month, Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) deliberated the potential initiation of an impeachment inquiry against President Joe Biden. This consideration centered specifically on Biden’s compliance in furnishing documents. Following the House’s entry into its August recess, the issue largely subsided. However, with September on the horizon, McCarthy addressed the prospect of impeachment in a conversation with Larry Kudlow on Fox Business.

According to McCarthy, such an inquiry could materialize in September.
Several House committee chairpersons, among them House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY), House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH), and House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith (R-MO), have undertaken an investigation into allegations of corruption within the Biden family. This investigation is in line with their dedication to fulfilling the promises made during their campaign.

When asked definitively about his stance on launching an impeachment inquiry, McCarthy underscored that the decision hinges on the actions of the Biden family and their willingness to cooperate. McCarthy’s response was based on the notion that the decision to proceed with an impeachment inquiry would depend on whether or not the Bidens were willing to provide the documents that had been requested. It all boils down to how the Bidens decide to resolve this issue.

He clarified that an impeachment inquiry would not be necessary if the Bidens provided the required documents; however, if they choose to withhold the information and hinder the dissemination of crucial data to the American public, which they are entitled to. In that case, an impeachment inquiry will be pursued upon their return to session.

During the discussion with Kudlow, McCarthy devoted much of the interview to the potential impeachment inquiry. He commenced by recapping past developments and highlighting the evolving narrative surrounding Biden family corruption. McCarthy raised the issue of the ongoing discussion surrounding Joe Biden’s connection to his son Hunter Biden’s business dealings, which took place while Joe Biden was serving as Vice President.

McCarthy said the only reason the public knows this is because the release of this information is due to the Republicans gaining the majority and their dedication to holding the administration responsible. McCarthy said there is a stark contrast between what President Biden has communicated and the discoveries made.
