Jersey City, New Jersey – A 36-year-old man from Hoboken, Joseph Del Valle, has been taken into custody and charged in connection to a triple shooting incident that resulted in the death of a man and left two others injured. Hudson County prosecutors have filed murder, weapons, and assault charges against Del Valle.
The incident occurred on March 9 at around 6:30 a.m. on Jordan Avenue, near a high school in McGinley Square. Reports indicate that Del Valle allegedly shot three individuals during the altercation. Tragically, 33-year-old Christoph Terrero Marte from Jersey City lost his life, while a 28-year-old from Union City and a 31-year-old from Jersey City sustained injuries that were deemed non-life-threatening.
Authorities were able to apprehend Del Valle at an address on Summit Avenue in Jersey City. He has since been transferred to the Hudson County Correctional Facility awaiting his initial court appearance. In addition to Del Valle, Francisco Salcedo, 42, from Jersey City, was also taken into custody on charges of aggravated assault and weapons-related offenses. Salcedo was arrested on March 11 at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Secaucus.
