Lompoc Police Release Identity of 20-Year-Old Shot and Killed During Robbery and Carjacking Attempt at Convenience Store

LOMPOC, Calif. – A 20-year-old resident of Lompoc was fatally shot by police officers while they were responding to reports of a carjacking and a robbery attempt at a convenience store on December 29, 2023. The man, identified as Connor Amador, was confronted by police officers outside the store and was subsequently shot.

According to the Lompoc Police, Amador allegedly robbed the clerk at the convenience store of alcohol and money before attempting to carjack someone at the gas pumps and then returning to the store to attempt another armed robbery.

Amador’s family has set up a GoFundMe page to cover his memorial service and funeral costs, describing him as a dedicated brother, uncle, son, and friend. The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the shooting. It remains unclear what Amador was armed with or what prompted the police to shoot him during their confrontation.
