Grisly Murder of Bronx Family Unravels as NYPD Identifies Person of Interest

NEW YORK, NY – Police in the Bronx have identified a person of interest in the brutal murder of a family over the weekend. The victims, 38-year-old Jonathan Rivera, 33-year-old Hanoi Peralta, and their 5-year-old son Kayden Rivera, were found dead inside their apartment building on Sunday morning.

NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny shared gruesome details about the crime, suggesting that a loved one may have been responsible. Jonathan was found in the building’s hallway with multiple stab wounds and lacerations, indicating a violent struggle. Peralta was found in a nearby apartment with 15 stab wounds to her back and 7 to her chest. Chief Kenny noted that Kayden had suffered the worst fate, with multiple stab wounds and being disemboweled.

The crime scene provided evidence of the brutal nature of the murders, as a small kitchen knife and a dented pot were recovered. Witnesses reported hearing screams and unsettling noises in the early hours of November 26, a sign that something was amiss in the building.

Police later identified the person of interest as the son of Rivera from a previous relationship and revealed that he had been brought to the home to babysit the night before the murders. The person of interest was taken to the hospital for a psychological evaluation after his mother reported that he was hearing voices. At the hospital, he made incriminating statements, suggesting his involvement in the crimes.

While no arrest has been made, the authorities expressed confidence in their ability to build a case against the person of interest. They assured the public that they are working diligently on the investigation and are collaborating with the Bronx District Attorney’s office to ensure justice for the victims.

In light of these disturbing events, the community mourns the tragic loss of three innocent lives and clings to hope for justice to be served in the near future.
