JONESBORO, Ga. — A 54-year-old father was arrested Friday night after a gun discharged during a fight with his two sons in Jonesboro, wounding both sons and leading to aggravated assault and other charges, according to Clayton County police.
Officers were called to the 600 block of Robert E. Lee Parkway at about 7:51 p.m. Friday after receiving a report of a person shot. Investigators said they determined that a domestic dispute involving Tracy Lamont Jackson Sr. and his two sons had escalated into a physical confrontation.
Police said a gun went off during the fight and struck both sons. Emergency crews took the two injured sons to local hospitals. Authorities described their injuries as not life-threatening but did not release further information about their conditions.
Officers arrested Jackson at the scene. He faces charges of aggravated assault, first-degree cruelty to children and reckless conduct, according to police and court information cited in the initial report. The charges are accusations, and the case remains under investigation.
