The federal court judgment that slammed President Biden’s catch-and-release policy described the southwest border as “a meaningless boundary in the sand” and “nothing more than a speedbump” for aliens flowing into the country.
When Republican border governors began transporting illegal aliens that the federal government had released into their states to northern cities such as New York, Washington D.C., and Chicago, Democratic mayors in those cities complained incessantly because they were being forced to fulfill their pledges to provide a safe haven for illegal aliens. In reality, their complaint was a political assault.
Democrats demand $20 million in increased funds for a controversial DHS program that aids illegal immigrants. Republicans have opposed the DHS program because of its ties to an anti-ICE non-profit.
