CLACTON, ENGLAND – In a display of courage and quick thinking, a group of five police officers rescued nine individuals, including seven children, from a dangerous fire in Clacton. Last November, officers were in pursuit of an outstanding suspect when they noticed a mobility scooter engulfed in flames outside a property in Clacton.
Upon arrival, DS Phil Weedon, DC Adam Westall, PC Tom Rowsell, PC Richie Brannan, and Special Constable Damien Butcher sprang into action. A homeowner, desperate and frantic, informed the officers that his family was trapped inside the burning dwelling. Without hesitation, the officers broke a window and successfully extracted all nine individuals from the inferno just as the mobility scooter erupted into a fireball.
