Arrest Made at Heathrow Airport in Connection with Fatal Car Collision in East London

London, England – A murder suspect was apprehended at Heathrow Airport following a fatal collision involving a pedestrian in east London, according to local authorities.

The Metropolitan Police responded to reports of a car striking a 35-year-old man on Barking Road in Newham early on Sunday morning. Despite efforts to save him, the victim succumbed to his injuries.

Hours later, a 33-year-old man was arrested at Heathrow Airport on suspicion of murder, while a 30-year-old woman was also taken into custody for allegedly aiding the suspect. Both individuals are currently being held by law enforcement.

Detective Chief Inspector Joanna Yorke expressed condolences to the victim’s family and urged witnesses from an event on Barking Road to come forward with any information that could assist the investigation. Police believe there is no immediate threat to the community, but officers will continue to patrol the area for added security.
