Over the northern shore of Alaska on Friday, the United States military shot down an unidentified object, which landed on frozen waters and is currently being recovered.
On Friday, Representative Greg Murphy claimed that absolute pressure was responsible for downing this mystery, car-sized item.
The North Carolina Republican said the President and the military were under intense pressure to destroy anything before it crossed the United States gathering intelligence and infringing on American territory for the second time.
The chief of the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and senior officials briefed Murphy and other members of Congress in a classified meeting this past week. Although he could not provide specifics, he revealed that the most often asked-after was the concern of the failure to shoot down the spy balloon before it reached the Atlantic.
Murphy believes China is testing the United States’ resolve by sending the unidentified item shot down over Alaska on Friday, although the object’s origins are still unknown.
The Pentagon then released a statement explaining how American forces intercepted and destroyed a third UFO over Canada on Saturday.
In a statement released by the Pentagon on Saturday, Brigadier General Pat Ryder said that President Biden had authorized North American Aerospace Defense Command to work with the Canadian government to shoot down a high-altitude airborne object following a call with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
The Pentagon claims that NORAD discovered the item late on Friday night over Alaska, tracked it closely, and took the time to characterize the nature of the object with the help of the Alaska Air National Guard as it crossed U.S. airspace.
According to the statement, the surveillance continued on Saturday when the item entered Canadian airspace, with Canadian CF-18 and CP-140 aircraft joining the formation to analyze the object further.
The statement claims that the item was destroyed by an AIM 9X missile fired from a United States F-22 Raptor inside Canadian airspace.
The Pentagon has said that the FBI will cooperate closely with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police as the Canadian government conducts recovery operations to help both countries get insight into the object.
Following the Pentagon’s statement that the President had been constantly kept up to date by his national security team since the object was spotted, the White House issued a readout of the call between Biden and Trudeau.
The briefing stated that President Biden and Prime Minister Trudeau authorized the shootdown out of extreme caution and on the advice of their respective militaries. In close consultation with Canadian officials, a U.S. F-22 shot down the object in Canadian territory after President Biden approved U.S. fighter aircraft assigned to NORAD to perform the mission.
The Pentagon issued a statement shortly after Trudeau tweeted that he had given the go-ahead for the object to be shot down. NORAD verified it was keeping an eye on the high-altitude airborne object.
Last week, a considerably larger Chinese surveillance balloon flew from Alaska into Montana and across the United States before being shot down above the Atlantic Ocean.
This is the third unidentified flying object shot down by a United States-owned F-22 raptor.
