Man Suspected of Fatal Shooting Outside Arlington Club Released Without Charges – Investigation Continues

Arlington, Texas – An incident outside a gentlemen’s club in Arlington early Sunday left one man dead and another injured in a shooting. Authorities responded to a call at approximately 1:15 a.m. in the 2700 block of Majesty Drive, where they discovered two gunshot victims on the ground near the club’s parking lot.

The deceased individual was identified as Abel Alberto Rodriguez, 30 years old, by the county medical examiner. The other victim, a 40-year-old man, was transported to a hospital for treatment and is expected to survive. The suspected shooter, whose identity has not been disclosed, was apprehended at the scene by law enforcement officers.

According to detectives, prior conflicts between the suspected shooter and the 40-year-old victim escalated into a verbal altercation outside the club. When Rodriguez, a friend of the 40-year-old, arrived and joined the dispute, shots were fired. A firearm was recovered near the 40-year-old man, leading investigators to consider the possibility of self-defense in the shooting.

Following consultation with the Tarrant County district attorney’s office, law enforcement decided not to press criminal charges against the suspected shooter on the day of the incident. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to gather more evidence and information surrounding the case.
