Tragic Propane Explosion Claims Three Lives in North Sioux City Residence

NORTH SIOUX CITY, South Dakota – A tragic incident unfolded on Saturday as three residents lost their lives in a fire sparked by a propane explosion, as reported by a South Dakota Fire Marshal Investigator.

The North Sioux City community was rocked early in the morning when emergency responders rushed to a devastating scene at 7 Bancroft Court. The North Sioux City Fire Department, along with the Paramedics, Police Department, and additional support from Sergeant Bluff Fire, Union County Sheriff’s Office, and Union County Emergency Management, all swiftly mobilized to tackle the residential fire.

Upon arrival, emergency crews were met with a raging inferno engulfing the residence. Tragically, by 9:00 AM, three individuals were found deceased inside the home. The names of the victims are being withheld at this time to allow for proper notification of their family members.

Later in the day, at 12:16 PM, a South Dakota Fire Marshal Investigator arrived at the scene to conduct a thorough investigation, ultimately determining that the fire was triggered by a propane explosion. The community now grapples with the somber reality of the loss and the devastating impact of the incident on the North Sioux City residents.
