Winter Haven, Florida – A tragic case has unfolded in Winter Haven, Florida, where a mother is facing serious charges in connection with the death of her 4-year-old adopted son from Haiti. Patricia Saintizaire, 36, has been accused of first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse, and tampering with a witness in the case of Bryan Boyer’s untimely death, as confirmed by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Grady Judd expressed shock and disbelief at the horrific nature of the child’s abuse, stating, “He’s dead because she beat him to death. It is beyond my wildest imagination how anyone could abuse a beautiful little fella like this child was abused and neglected.”
Aside from Bryan, Saintizaire also has a 16-year-old son whom she adopted from Haiti, now under protective custody. The investigation began when Orlando Health Hospital alerted authorities about the suspicious circumstances surrounding the 4-year-old’s death, which was initially believed to be due to an abdominal bleed that could not be resolved through emergency surgery.
Following an autopsy that revealed the cause of death as assault/blunt force trauma, the sheriff’s office uncovered disturbing details about Bryan’s previous injuries, including scarring and a laceration on his liver that led to a rapid decline in health. While no broken bones were reported, the autopsy indicated signs of ongoing abuse through bruising and hemorrhaging on his limbs.
As the investigation progressed, it was revealed that Saintizaire allegedly used physical discipline on both her sons, with evidence from home surveillance videos showing instances of abuse. The eldest son, who initially denied any abuse, later confessed to being threatened by his adoptive mother to remain silent about the situation. Saintizaire’s husband, who claimed to be unaware of the abuse, reiterated her denial of using physical punishment on the children.
