Young Woman Murdered at Hyde Park Party, Suspect Remains at Large – Met Police Opens Investigation

London, England – Authorities are investigating the tragic stabbing death of Kamonnan Thiamphanit, known to friends as Angela, at a party near Hyde Park. The 27-year-old woman was found lifeless at a luxurious property in Bayswater, rented as an Airbnb holiday let. Police suspect the assailant may have been acquainted with the victim, who succumbed to stab wounds in the early hours of Monday morning.

Neighbors reported hearing a raucous gathering at the residence on Saturday night, followed by alarming screams the next day. The Metropolitan Police found no signs of forced entry at the three-story terraced house, raising questions about the circumstances surrounding Thiamphanit’s death.

The investigation took a turn when the police referred themselves to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) due to concerns about their initial response to calls from a friend who reported Thiamphanit missing. Despite this, officers discovered her body with fatal injuries after forcibly entering the premises.

Thiamphanit, a London-based individual of Chinese, Hong Kong, and Thai descent, left her family devastated by her untimely passing. Commander Owain Richards expressed the authorities’ commitment to pursuing all leads to track down the suspect and ensure justice is served.

The victim’s family, currently overseas, is grappling with the profound loss as they attempt to come to terms with the tragedy. The investigation into Thiamphanit’s murder is part of a broader concern following a string of similar incidents involving the deaths of three other women in different parts of London over a short period.

In light of the recent spate of tragedies, law enforcement agencies are under scrutiny, with the IOPC stepping in to examine whether any lapses in protocol contributed to delays in locating Thiamphanit. The investigation aims to shed light on the circumstances leading to the young woman’s demise and prevent similar incidents in the future.
