York Police Arrest Two Men in Connection to Violent Assault Case

York, United Kingdom – Two men are facing charges in connection with a violent attack that occurred in York. The suspects, aged 26 and 29, were taken into custody by authorities on Tuesday following an investigation into an assault on a man that took place on April 19th.

According to the police, both men have been charged with wounding with intent. Additionally, the 29-year-old faces additional charges including witness intimidation, criminal damage, assaulting an emergency worker, and possession of an offensive weapon. They have been remanded in custody and are scheduled to appear before magistrates on Thursday.

North Yorkshire Police has confirmed that the 26-year-old individual has also been recalled back to prison. Another man in his 60s, who was also arrested in connection with the attack, has been released on conditional bail, as stated by a police spokesperson.

Furthermore, two women aged 41 and 43, along with a 54-year-old man who were previously arrested in relation to the incident, remain on bail while investigations are ongoing. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the assault to come forward and assist in the case.

Detective Chief Inspector Fionna McEwan emphasized the importance of cooperation from the public, stating, “I continue to appeal to anyone who has any information to please come forward.” The investigation is ongoing, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
