Woman stabs boyfriend in the eye with rabies needle

MIAMI, FL — A woman in Miami was taken into custody over the weekend for allegedly attacking her boyfriend with a “rabies needle.” Sandra Jimenez, 44, was arrested on November 25 after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend in the eye during a domestic dispute, according to police reports.

The incident occurred at their shared home on Saturday night when Jimenez jumped on top of her boyfriend of eight years and stabbed him in the eye, piercing his right eyelid. The arrest report stated that the couple had a needle for their dogs, which was referred to as a “rabies needle.”

The attack reportedly stemmed from an ongoing argument about the boyfriend looking at other women. Jimenez’s boyfriend, who was lying on the couch at the time of the assault, immediately called the police after the incident. The injured man was later transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Police located Jimenez sleeping in her car outside her home and subsequently arrested her. She has been charged with aggravated battery, a domestic violence felony. Jimenez made an appearance in court on Monday, where her bond was set at $7,500. The judge ordered her to remain under house arrest and to stay away from her boyfriend, citing probable cause for the attack.

The use of a “rabies needle” in the assault has raised questions among authorities. The exact nature of the needle is unclear. Further details have not yet been released.
